Scientific Illustration
I produced this image to accompany an article about EMBL-EBI's Metagenomics data service. The service offers tens of thousands of analysed genomes and tools for studying data from environmental samples. Shortly after the article the authors held an online lecture for a younger audience and and as part of the engagement I created an accompanying cartoon.
The original intention of the EMBL-EBI Dataman image was to illustrate the different service types offered by EMBL-EBI in a stylised and abstract way. The image was so successful that it was reproduced as a large-scale wall art in the EMBL-EBI South Building
This image was part of an article about the curiosity of genomes within different species, for the EMBL publication, EMBLetc. The brief was to illustrate a specific set of species in the style of Leonardo da Vinci
A design for an article authored by John Marioni to support his work on CD4 - a glycoprotein found on the surface of immune cells such as T helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells
Originally designed for the EMBL-EBI Annual Report, this 3D Visualisation was produced in large format as office wall art
